As always it is bloody difficult to make up a nice name for anything on this internet thing. Finally I went for prophet5 which is a classic synth by Sequential Circuits (wikipedia page, hyperreal machines page). In my old company we named all our workstations after the synths from the hyperreal list, so we got prophet5, tr606, tr808, sixtrak and so on. The only one who has survived (including name) is stratus. Our main web servers were called Vaeth and Hawtin BTW. It is also some powerful group in the Alias TV Series.

Today I went to my local “Ajunament de Barcelona” office, the one for the “Districte de l’Eixample” to get my “Empadronamiento”. It is a paper which says that I live where I live, which I need to register my motorcycle here. The motorcycle is still registered in the UK. For this paper you’ll need (well, I did): * passport / id card * NIE paper * rental agreement * some current gas/water/electricity/rent bill After a bit of queueing - going back home to get a bill - more queueing, the whole thing went smooth and I advance to the next level of motorcylcle ownership in spain.

Ok, I thought I have another go at blogging. This time I have good reason though: I will be unemployed for the first time in my life after being employed by my first and only company for nearly ten years. And I want to talk a bit about livin in Barcelona and stuff I do and find on the net. So… lets see if this stays the only entry.
