Bank Holiday Links 21-12

A big post today, as last week I was distracted by too many puppies. I caught up with my podcasts and there is some good stuff like the Dunbar one. Also a small section about my cassette tape problem. Management Robin Dunbar makes the case for human connection [Podcast] - sometimes one forgets that there are people behind things like the Dunbar Number. ...

Friday Links 21-11

I have been looking into remote compensation structures a bit … it is complicated. Also some good long posts and podcasts about managing and teams. I was quite distracted by animal life this week, so I am quite proud of the amount of blogs and podcasts I got through. Management Performance reviews should be unsurprising, fair, and motivating - nothing to add really. I wouldn’t say I am 100% there yet, but this should be the goal. The 2021 State of Remote Work - Buffer asks remote workers about remote work … 2.4% don’t like it and 3% wouldn’t recommended it. Possibly some selection bias. ...

2020 review

2020 review

2020 was a bit unexpected to say the least. Here is a quick review from my perspective. This is the second year we are living in the countryside and hour from Barcelona and over the year it turned out to have been a pretty good decision. January Pretty uneventful. I mostly cycled indoors and met the BRCG crew once for a longer ride. A storm hit Spain and led to a bit of damage on our house. ...
